More Steps = Longer Life? 🤩

You Need to Know This...

Hey there,

Physical activity? It's a game-changer. 💪

  • Drops cholesterol and blood sugar.

  • Accelerates metabolism.

  • Helps you shed pounds.

  • Gives you betters sleep and mental health.

  • Sharpens yours focus and learning

Amazing, right? 🤩

Counting steps each day? Maybe not so amazing…

Researchers have directly found that the more steps you take daily, the longer you live!

But what's the minimum for that benefit? 🤔

Check this out. A study of 17,000 women showed those who hit 4,400 steps daily had lower mortality rates than those at 2,700 steps.

Every additional 1,000 steps lowered mortality until 7,500 steps. After that, benefits plateaued.

Another study echoed this.

Women with less than 4,000 steps daily had the highest risk of mortality.

Every extra 1,000 steps lowered mortality. This continued up to 12,000 steps.

Then, benefits began to taper.

What about pace? Does speed matter? 🏃‍♀️💨

Surprisingly, no.

These studies found no link between walking speed and mortality. Just getting those steps in is enough for the mortality benefit.

Daily walking also helps the cardiovascular system.

Stiff arteries are an easy precursor to cardiovascular disease.

More steps daily equals less arterial stiffness.

Less stiffness equals less risk of cardiovascular disease!

What about cognition?

Daily walking boosts memory and executive function. More steps in a day equates to improved cognitive function!

And your immune system?

Daily walking helps there too.

A study in Japan found walking one hour daily (about 7,000 steps) significantly reduced mortality from pneumonia in adults over 40.

Mental health? That too.

Participants in a 100-day, 10,000-step program saw improvements in depression, anxiety, and stress. Even if they didn't hit 10,000 steps, mental health improved.

Despite all this upside, it can be very challenging to get all your steps in! 😓

With all the issues people have going on in there daily lives, some days it is impossible to get outside or drive all the way to the gym.

I used to struggle to get a mere 2,000 steps a day!

But that was before I purchased a walking treadmill for my desk!

It is seriously one of the best investments I have made in my health and to anyone looking for an easy way to get more steps in is what I always recommend.

It makes it super easy to get my steps in and for me was the one thing I was missing on my health journey!

Here is a link to the one I bought on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4ffgi2S

So, there you have it. Get those steps in, my friend.

Until next time,
